About The Role

It’s an exciting time to join the McQueens Flowers Group. We are looking for a talented Marketing and Content Assistant to support the McQueens Flowers and Hayford & Rhodes brands. With a natural interest in floral design, you will have a creative eye, possess excellent copywriting skills and be digitally savvy. This position also requires a high level of organisation as you will be working with a number of different stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

Social Media

- Planning and drafting engaging social media posts
- Selecting and curating suitable photography
- Designing on-brand, beautiful content for Instagram Stories
- Enthusiastically interacting with followers across socials

Copywriting

- Contribute articles to the McQueens Flowers and Hayford & Rhodes journals
- Support the Marketing Managers in the creation of marketing collateral

Website

- Maintain and update both the McQueens Flowers and Hayford & Rhodes websites, using a range of CMS’s
- Support the E-Commerce Manager in ensuring website pages are fully optimised

Ad Hoc

- Respond to image requests from press and partners
- Research and pitch potential content themes across social and journal platforms
- Take photos - from behind the scenes crafting to event set-up
- Help maintain image libraries
- Contribute ideas to marketing campaigns and activations
- Occasionally assist with in-store events and photoshoots

Required Skills and Experience

- 1 - 2 years experience in a similar role or work placement
- Excellent understanding of luxury brands
- A passion for flowers and floristry is advantageous
- A strong creative eye - you will be required to create on-brand, beautiful templates for Instagram Stories
- An interest in photography would be advantageous
- Excellent copywriting skills with an ability to adapt from brand to brand
- Plenty of initiative - such as pitching journal ideas, social media initiatives and keeping the websites fully updated
- A passion for social media - experience in running a successful social media or blog would be desirable
- An enthusiasm for organisation is a must!
- A sound knowledge of Microsoft Office and Photoshop
- Knowledge of Mailchimp, Canva and Planoly is advantageous
- A ‘can do’ attitude

Job Description

The job-holder will be a valued member of the McQueens talent team, with responsibility for helping to produce exceptional floral designs for our retail customers and local-based clientele.

Generally working as part of a team led by a Shop Manager, Part-Time Retail Florists need to demonstrate creativity and technical competence as well as well-developed customer service, communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Our clientele include some of the world’s most luxurious and demanding hotels, restaurants and event venues, and organisers – all of whom expect a flawless execution of the services we have committed to provide to them.

Our central London Retail Florists play an important role in making this happen and need to be committed to going the extra mile when necessary – settling for nothing less than perfection and quality.

The role calls for a combination of passion, creativity, flexibility, team-working, interpersonal skills, organisation and planning, attention to detail, and staying calm under pressure.

Role

- Working as part of a team of retail florists led by a Shop Manager
- Conditioning and preparation of flowers
- Attractively displaying and maintaining floral display
- Swiftly creating floral designs for walk-in customers
- Taking floral orders over the phone and in-person
- Liaising with suppliers from time to time
- Comply with all company policies and procedures at all times

Requirements

Role

The job-holder will be a key member of the McQueens Flowers Finance team, with responsibility for managing all aspects of accounts receivable, sales ledger, credit control and income.

- Attending monthly revenue meetings to cover all aspects of billings and deferred revenue.

- Working with the sales team on a daily basis.

- Responsible for reducing and maintaining unpaid debt levels.

- Handling and resolving queries to ensure matters are billed promptly.

- Review daily bank statements and ensure funds are allocated to revenue stream.

- Develop procedures and policies that will enhance the accuracy of revenue recognition.

The role has a direct and positive impact on the commercial success and growth of the group and requires an ambitious and driven individual to support the wider team to grow the business.

This role requires good judgment, independent initiative, a high degree of organisation, attention to detail, and ability to manage time and workload effectively, commercial acumen, and excellent interpersonal skills.
