It might not surprise you to find out that here at McQueens HQ every single one of us is a self-confessed flower fanatic. As the seasons change so do our affections, and we can’t help but get excited about the return of certain varieties. At this time of year as Valentine’s approaches, we go particularly weak at the knees for the romantic stems. Of course this is all very subjective, so we caught up with our lovestruck team to find out about their own particular favourites…
Nadia, McQueens Events Florist – Red Roses
"It may sound a bit obvious but there’s a reason red roses are the universal floral symbol of love and romance! The seductive shade, velvety petals and exquisite shape make each one a mini work of art."
Alison, Senior Events Florist – Anemones
"I love the contrasting qualities of the anemone. Whilst delicate and feathery light, they can also be striking and beautiful in colour. The hypnotic centre finishes off their allure, and en masse – stunning!"

Rodney – Senior Florist, Hellebores
"I’m completely enthralled by the beautiful hellebore at this time of year -– otherwise known as the winter rose. They have a subtle elegance and I find their wild aesthetic very romantic."

Michi – Operations Manager, Ranunculus
"Ranunculus are a true February gem. They’re available in lots of gorgeous varieties from tiny and neat to large and fluffy. There’s definitely a romance in their soft, tutu-like formation of petals."

Mariko – Events Florist, Tulips
"I love the simplicity of a sultry tulip. Their elegant, winding stems create stunning silhouettes as they follow the light. Don’t underestimate this humble springtime flower; they come in many show-stopping guises including the fringed and parrot tulips."
